Leona Dang-Kilduff, RN, MSN, CDE --
BIO
Leona Dang-Kilduff has worked in diabetes and pregnancy since 1990. A Certified Diabetes Educator, Leona has served the gestational diabetes population in variety of settings ranging from public health clinics to tertiary care facilities. Leona is the Regional Coordinator of the Mid-Coastal California Diabetes and Pregnancy Program, and works in the Mid-Coastal Perinatal Outreach Program, at Stanford University School of Medicine. In this role, she provides consulting services and instructs hospital personnel in the care of women with diabetes during pregnancy.
Leona is the Chair of the Pregnancy/Reproductive Health Specialty Practice Group of the American Association of Diabetes Educators and is a member of the American Diabetes Association. She is active in research, publishing and guideline development, and her work in gestational diabetes has appeared in Diabetes Care and The Journal of The International Diabetes Foundation. An experienced presenter, Leona incorporates real-life experience and evidenced-based practice, in a practical, relaxed, easy-to-follow style.

While considered a complication of pregnancy, gestational diabetes need not adversely affect mother or fetus. It is one of the most treatable conditions to occur during pregnancy.
